BSA was officially accepted as a member of the Confederation of ASEAN Societies of Anaesthesiologists (CASA) at the 16th ASEAN Congress of Anaesthesiologists (16th ACA) held on 2nd to 5th July 2009 at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, malaysia. BSA was represented at CASA, Sabah by its treasurer, Dr Shah Sudirchandra

BSA joined CASA as the ninth member after Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. CASA is the body which organizes the biennial ASEAN Congress of Anaesthesiologists (ASA).
