The course is open to all doctors interested in point of care ultrasound, to enhance the management of the critically ill. This course presents a systematic and comprehensive assessment using ultrasound, adopting the familiar “A, B, C, D, E” format in accordance with the WINFOCUS ultrasound life support curriculum. The intent is to enable rapid and effective decision making, and to improve triage, diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring capability.
The lectures are condensed and will be delivered in an interactive format. During the hands on training sessions, trainees will be guided to perform bedside scans on volunteers and practise intervention skills on mannequins. The trainee to trainer ratio is restricted to ensure trainees have ample opportunities to practise. This course will lay the foundation required to the clinicians in using point of care ultrasound in their daily practice.
